This innovative new multi-featured product was designed for touring and recreation class Sit-On-Top sea kayaks. Octopus provides the ultimate performance for both safety and convenience. Available features include:

None of the options interfere with paddling, tee-rescue, or Eskimo roll. Additionally, Octopus Hatch accessories are securely stowed in the sealed hull, immediately accessible for swap out. All accessory adapters are tethered. This provides security as well as an opportunity to use the beverage holder, while an accessory is tethered.

Sit-On-Top Basic Package

Our SOT version shares most of the closed hull system features while adding integrated accessory storage and optional integrated hydration features. In lieu of a rubber hull adapter ring, our SOT system features a durable plastic hull adapter with a hinged and latched top providing access to a large internal water resistant storage bag. Our hull adapter is designed to replace OEM 5” angled day hatches, which are common on SOT kayaks. The 4.5” hinged top opening and storage bag are large enough to store virtually all common mounted system accessories. SOT kayaks are essentially sealed hulls, and pumps are rarely used. Therefore we deleted the pump holder and related features. Our Octopus SOT system offers unique and exciting safety and convenience features. All components are safely accessible while underway! Installation is easy. Simply remove the OEM angled day-hatch and porous bag. Then, using the provided hardware (screws etc.), install the adapter fitting using the same opening and screw holes. Simple and quick…screw driver and pliers job. You are ready to go! The basic kit includes everything needed to enjoy the following Octopus system features:

SOT Hydration Hatch Cover

SOT Hydration Hatch Cover with an integrated sealed and tethered cap, as used in our Hammock Hydration System. Users may place a standard sports bladder into the standard SOT storage bag, and route the drinking tube through the optional hatch cover port. (Our totally separate Hammock Hydration System is also compatible with many SOT kayaks. See the Fit Table.)

SOT Beverage Holder

This optional Octopus Hatch Beverage Holder (S.O.T.) kayaks only) Provides easy access to a wide variety of common beverage containers such as : sports bottles (up to standard 0.75 liter or 24 oz.), soft drink cans or bottles, insulated commuter cups, etc. Deep enough to be very secure, yet easy to grasp. Simply unscrew tethered cover or accessory in use, let it hang aside, and the beverage holder is accessible. It may remain in operational position, or be stored in the accessory bag, as desired. The cup must be removed to fully open the hinged SOT top.
